Paris Fashion: Don’t Leave Us, Carine
I’m so excited that the February Issue of Vogue Paris is here! Photos by Mario Sorrenti, styling by Emmanuelle Alt and Carine Roitfield.
There was a full page photo on the right of a girl in a bright red long sleeve flowered & flowing shirt, and royal blue with flowers skirt. The colors were so bold and fresh! I looked at the next page and was equally impressed and happy. And then . . . a page flip later, the colors were faded, the poses were boring, and the outfits were not unique, but instead something you might see in the Lower East Side any day. So . . . I looked closely……..ALL of the bold & beautiful colorful photo spreads were styled by Carine Roitfield, and all the predictable images were by Emmanuelle Alt. I think Carine is all fantasy and imagination, the outfits you wear in your dreams but which may never work in reality. Emmanuelle Alt seems to be delivering the truth, a real woman’s fashion guide, but I want to be inspired to try new things and invent a look of my own. I can’t imagine that Carine will leave the fashion world. Where do you think she’ll go next?
